NIH abandons grant cap scheme, replaces with new fund for younger scientists |
The NIH is scrapping its grant support index (GSI), which would have capped funding for some individuals in order to support more investigators overall. Instead, the agency will eventually devote $1 billion per year to funding proposals from early- and midcareer investigators.
