The Genetics Society of America congratulates the four newly elected members to the 2011 Board of Directors.

Phil Hieter (Univ of British Columbia, Canada) will become vice president in 2011, succeeding to president in 2012.  Judith Berman (Univ of Minnesota, Minneapolis), Bonnie Bartel (Rice Univ, Houston), and Jeannie T. Lee (Harvard Med Sch and Mass Gen Hosp) will serve as directors from 2011-2013.  “It has been encouraging to see the high level of membership participation in this election.  I look forward to working with the new Board members and the general membership on GSA activities,” said GSA Executive Director Sherry Marts.  Nearly 35% of the membership voted in this election.

Final reminder . . . today is the last day to submit an abstract for the 2011 52nd Annual Drosophila Research Conference, March 30-April 3, 2011 in San Diego, CA.
