2019 Membership Application & Renewal
GSA membership is based on a calendar year. The membership term begins on January 1 and ends on December 31.
There are several membership term options available:
- One year (now available for all membership categories)
- Multi-year (now available for all membership categories)
- GSA Automatic Renewal Program (new for all membership categories)
GSA also now offers the opportunity for individuals in a list of low-income and developing countries to benefit from a free membership.

K-12/Community College Educator/
MSI Faculty
Individuals holding positions as teachers at K-12 schools, faculty at community colleges, and faculty employed at Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) may select this membership category. Community colleges include institutions that fall under the Carnegie Foundation classification of Associate's Colleges (for-profit institutions are excluded). A list of types of MSIs and institutions that qualify as MSIs can be found at the US Department of Education. |

Emeritus
Any person who has been a Regular Member of the Society for past five consecutive years and is fully retired is eligible for Emeritus membership. Emeritus members will be automatically renewed each year. |

Developing Country
Any person who is a full-time resident of a low-income or least developed country (defined by the World Bank and/or United Nations) is eligible for a free GSA membership. |
